-The Founding of SACRED HEART SCHOOL-
The Birth of a school
The idea of the Sacred Heart School began in the mind of owner and directress Ma. Rosario Tambunting Juan’s fondness for children. Practically a fascination for her, that feeling towards children was greatly intensified when she herself became a mother. A delightful experience, Mrs. Juan found new strength while nursing her first born in her arms. She realized the many needs of a child, not only in caring but also in the development of heart and spirit.
Often her favorite topic of conversation with friends, was child development. Always guided by Rosseau’s claim that a child is like a plant that needs nutrition by way of education and Montessori’s belief that a child possesses an innate potential for constructing himself or herself, that the child has the ability, given an appropriate environment, to develop his/her own potential. In the light of all these, Mrs. Juan decided to establish a school for preschoolers—a nursery and a preparatory school. She would be the surrogate mother of children of working mothers. She took the task as a personal challenge. Thus, between fascination logic she became determined to put up a kindergarten school.
The School Begins
As good fortune would have it, an existing preschool was closing around the time Mrs. Juan was thinking of putting up her own preschool.
The school’s previous owners were migrating to the United States and offered the school for sale. Mrs. Juan took the opportunity to turn her dream into reality.
In June 1968, the school began its first year of operation with thirty students, two teachers and an academic consultant. By mid-year, the enrollment grew to fifty to seventy students. Every year, thereafter, you would see the school expands its facilities and other equipments, acquire more books, space and recreational materials. More teachers and other employees such as janitors and canteen attendants were employed. The school gained stature and prominence and later on the school sought government recognition which was granted after evaluation of qualifications and merits by the Ministry of Education.
From the very beginning, the Sacred Heart School has always provided education that covers intelligence and aptitudes along with all the various aspects of child personality such as spiritual, social and physical development—including awareness of the child’s self to those around.
Since then, many have graduated from the school, finishing their elementary course, availing themselves of the school’s high ideals.
And the school continues to pursue its avowed objective of providing a well-rounded education to the communities it serves and of enhancing a child’s growth and the fundamental skills, social well-being and environmental awareness.

History of SACRED HEART SCHOOL - SUN VALLEY
Sacred Heart School opened on March 27,1999. It was a dream come true for school directress Christine Juan who used to be a Human Resource practitioner and later wanted to teach kids. With an extensive teacher’s training program and school administration, she began accepting enrollees at a refurbished house along Sun Valley Drive. During the first few weeks, she received plenty of inquiries which convinced her that she was doing something good for Sun Valley and nearby villages. With the strong brand recall of Sacred Heart School together with a high standard curriculum, it was easy for the school to attract many students and create a good following in its first year.
As the years went by and the school became known in the community as the best quality preschool of choice in Paranaque, the number of students steadily increased. Sacred Heart School – Sun Valley is now a well-respected preschool in the community. It provides a knowledge and skill based curriculum with emphasis on value formation at all five levels of preschool education. It boasts a high percentage of graduates who have been accepted and are presently excelling at the big schools such as Ateneo, Xavier, La Salle, St. Scholastica’s College, Poveda, Assumption College, ICA and others. Thanks to its well-trained teachers, an innovative curriculum designed by early childhood education consultants, a low teacher-student ratio and its educational materials. The school cares for the comfort of its students too which are evident in its facilities. These include fully air conditioned rooms which were expanded to accommodate more students, a playground with Little Tykes play equipment and a separate room for Galileo students.
